Hello, Teaching SIG members! A general news and update post for you on some upcoming ARLIS Teaching SIG events:
- Interactive Panel Session, Wednesday, March 27, 4:10-5:30 pm: The Teaching SIG is hosting and planning an interactive panel session at the annual conference, “Inciting Learning by Doing: Bringing Active Learning into Your Classroom.” This session will introduce participants to a variety of active learning ideas and activities, and then we’ll spend the majority of the time working together and in small groups to help you develop active learning plans of your own.
- Teaching SIG Meeting, Thursday, March 28, 12:30-1:20 pm: For more conversation with your fellow SIG members and to discuss the future of the SIG, come on by the annual meeting! We’ll be talking both about trends, issues, and experiences in instruction and information literacy, and about what the Teaching SIG should be doing to best benefit you, our members.
On that note, we need your feedback! Have ideas about where the SIG should go from here? Want to trade assessment tips? Feel like discussing a specific kind of pedagogy? Let us know in the comments, and we’ll plan our meeting around the topics you suggest!
