Hello Teaching SIG!
As a reminder, this coming Friday, December 10th at 4pm EST is the date of our Winter Lightning Talks. This year, we’re focusing on visual literacy in the library classroom, and we have three wonderful presenters who will give slightly longer presentations.
Maggie Murphy and Dan Hale, from UNC Greensboro, will give a talk on class that Maggie taught for Dan’s ART 400X course, on the topic of algorithms and visual literacy.
Mackenzie Salisbury, from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, will give a talk on a collaborative visual literacy lesson plan, focusing around an Instagram account which pairs visually similar works of art together.
Please join us at 4pm EST if you’re able — please look to your email inbox for a message from the Teaching SIG with the Zoom link. If you need the link, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Anna and Eva at aboutinc [at] fandm [dot] edu and esclippa [at] gmail [dot] com.
We hope to see you Friday!
